Yesterday afternoon the Village Hotel in Cardiff played host to the Welsh Regional Green Deal & ECO Awards, and it was Tempo Insulation from Kinmel Bay that walked away with the top prize in the Insulation and Fabric Installer category.
The Regional Awards, which are part of the National Green Deal & ECO Awards, recognise the companies and individuals who are making a difference in tackling fuel poverty and energy inefficiency, at a local level, through the Government’s Green Deal and Energy Company Obligations schemes.
The Government launched the Green Deal and Energy Company Obligations Schemes in 2013 to address the issue of increasing fuel poverty across the UK, and to help tackle the problem of energy inefficient housing stock in this country.
To date over 37,000 individual homes in Wales have been improved under these schemes and thousands more households, who are able to get access to other forms of finance, have been influenced to improve their homes themselves following a Green Deal Energy Assessment.
Insulation of cold and energy inefficient buildings is key to the success of these schemes, and Tempo Insulation is one of the companies leading the way in improving homes in Wales
Tempo Insulation Services from Conwy have been involved in over 4,000 Green Deal & ECO (Energy Company Obligations) insulation installs. They operate throughout North and Mid Wales and have been involved in some major projects in the surrounding English cities. Their passion for local recruitment and developing local talent capable of addressing hard to treat insulation problems in innovative ways was noted by the judges as an encouraging indicator for the long term future of the Green Deal in Wales
The award was presented to Tempo Insulation by the award sponsors Warm Wales Cymru Gynnes CBC
Event organiser, Gary Braybrooke, was quick to congratulate Tempo Insulation and the other nominees in the competition. “Installers are the people who have to look fuel poverty in the eye every day. They see people in real hardship living in below standard accommodation, and they quietly get on and do something about it. It is about time these people were properly recognised in their communities.”
As winners in the Welsh Regional Green Deal & ECO Awards, Tempo Insulation will now go forward to the National Green Deal & ECO Awards competition in May.Back to blog
I very rarely leave reviews, but on this occasion I felt I just had to.
Quite simply, Tempo ( Doncaster) were brilliant – did exactly as stated on their vans – free boilers. Turned up on time, did a fantastic job fitting my new oil boiler, no hassle, and free. Absolutely brilliant… I’ll spread the word Tempo.
