The Government have introduced a new cash back scheme which is called the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund (GDHIF), open to households in England and Wales. Households will be able to get up to £5,600 back through a new Green Deal Home Improvement Fund so they can take control of their bills and have warmer, greener homes.
Making your home more energy efficient will save money. Solid wall insulation, a decent boiler, windows that don’t leak heat and cavity and loft insulation make a home more comfortable through the winter months and generate welcome savings through lower energy bills.
For solid wall insulation 75% of the costs of installation up to a maximum of £3,750 can be claimed back by the customer via the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund. The Green Deal Home Improvement Fund (GDHIF) is designed to work alongside Green Deal finance and householders may consider the Green Deal finance option to help fund some of the cost of the installation, but they will not be required to do so in order to qualify for the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund. However, the work must be done by a registered Green Deal Installer such as Tempo, who operate in North Wales, Cornwall and Deveon, Doncaster and Yorkshire and the North West of England, including, Liverpool, Manchester and as far North as Preston. Complete the form to request a call back.
Solid wall insulation which is sometimes called external wall insulation is a type of insulation that not only insulates, but also protects the exterior of your home. Solid walls let twice as much heat escape as cavity walls, so this type of insulation could potentially save you hundreds of pounds on your heating bills. A typical property could save up to £460 and 1.9 tonnes of CO2 per year.
The Green Deal offers loans to pay for energy efficiency measures that are paid back over 10 to 25 years, with repayments added to electricity bills. The repayments should always be less than the energy savings, so a household’s monthly costs should not increase.
The measures being installed also need to have been recommended in a Green Deal assessment or on your Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) within the past two years. Contact Tempo to book your Green Deal assessment on 0800 152 2011.
The Green Deal scheme is complex but Tempo are here to guide you through each stage of the process.
