Energy firms are always in constant competition to be the cheapest on the market, however now the smaller firms are coming out of the wood-work in order to offer some of the lowest priced packages in years, people are still wondering why they still pay so much for their energy.
One of the main reasons for the rise in energy prices over the years is the close connection of electricity and gas prices, both rising at a similar pace resulting in heating costing more, a boiler taking up to 60% of energy bills. With the growing population and the need for more renewable energy in a more eco-conscious country, people are having to pay out for “green taxes” that are slowly being introduced, money which is going towards making the country more sustainable and allows the government to provide more eco-efficient measures into homes that are classed as in a state of fuel poverty, and unable to afford to better the efficiency of their homes themselves.
With the government investing more into improvements in order to become more energy efficient, energy tariffs are paying in order to help those with an energy rating of C or below with new heating and insulation measures in the home. However many people are being led to believe that simply installing a new measure into the home will help them keep down the cost of their energy bills, however this isn’t always true, with many people simply needing to be more aware of how to be more efficient and taking advantage of as many measures as possible in order to make their homes more efficient.
The executive director of Smart Energy Demand Coalition, Jessica Strömbäck claims that, “how markets are structured is not keeping up with reality and this is artificially and totally unnecessarily driving up prices.” Ovo Energy have become the first supplier in years to offer energy bills at less than £1000 per annum, it has recently been announced, however those with energy efficient boilers and new insulation will also be able to help lower bills in the long term without having to regularly swap energy provider. By becoming more conscious of how much energy is used in the home and how carbon emissions can be lowered, Tempo are able to be one of the companies striving to save people as much money as possible and make homes around the country more eco-friendly.
I very rarely leave reviews, but on this occasion I felt I just had to.
Quite simply, Tempo ( Doncaster) were brilliant – did exactly as stated on their vans – free boilers. Turned up on time, did a fantastic job fitting my new oil boiler, no hassle, and free. Absolutely brilliant… I’ll spread the word Tempo.
