Domestic Energy Survey (EPC)

What is A Domestic Energy Survey/EPC?

A Domestic Energy Survey or EPC as it is otherwise known, sounds very technical, but it is actually incredibly simple. EPC stands for Energy Performance Certificate. In order for Tempo to install any grant funded (or sometimes non grant funded) measures in your home we need to obtain an up to date EPC, which can be carried out by our qualified surveyors.

When you apply via our website or by phone, a surveyor will come to assess your property, take the required measurements in your home and enter the information into a software in order produce a certificate containing your energy costs and energy usage. An energy rating will be displayed on the EPC, containing an energy performance score between A (the most energy efficient) to G (The least energy efficient).

The EPC will also give recommendations of what measure would benefit your property in order to save you as much energy and money as possible. With your permission, we can then go ahead and install the measures required providing the correct measures are recommended.

What Does An EPC Involve? In order to produce an energy performance certificate, a surveyor will have to thoroughly assess your the energy usage in your property. For this the surveyors will most likely need good access to every room in your home. The surveyor will also be required to take some pictures (as evidence) and measurements in your property. The assessment in total should take no longer than 45 minutes. There are a few must do's and must haves when it comes to EPC's though:

  • When renting or selling a property, you must have an EPC report by law.
  • If you do not produce and EPC when renting or selling property you may get fined
  • A funded measurement cannot be installed without and EPC.

    Another happy customer

    Mr Chap

I very rarely leave reviews, but on this occasion I felt I just had to.
Quite simply, Tempo ( Doncaster) were brilliant – did exactly as stated on their vans – free boilers. Turned up on time, did a fantastic job fitting my new oil boiler, no hassle, and free. Absolutely brilliant… I’ll spread the word Tempo.
    Thanks again.
