What is A Commercial Energy Assessment/EPC?
A Commercial Energy Assessment or EPC as it is otherwise known, is similar to a Domestic Energy Survey but for a commercial property such as offices or multiple occupancy buildings. EPC stands for Energy Performance Certificate, and in order for Tempo to install any grant funded (or sometimes non grant funded) measures in the property we need to obtain an up to date EPC, which can be carried out by our qualified surveyors.
When you apply via our website or by phone, a surveyor will come to assess the property (with permission from the bill payer), take the required measurements, and enter the information into a software in order produce a certificate containing the estimated energy costs and energy usage.
An energy rating will be displayed on the EPC, containing an energy performance score between A (the most energy efficient) to G (The least energy efficient). The EPC will also give recommendations of what measure would benefit the building in order to save as much energy and money as possible. With permission from the bill payer, we can then go ahead and install the measures required providing the correct measures are recommended.
What Does A Commercial Assessment Involve? In order to produce an energy performance certificate, a surveyor will have to thoroughly assess your the energy usage in the property. For this the surveyors will most likely need good access to every room in your building. The surveyor will also be required to take some pictures (as evidence) and measurements in order to calculate correctly. The assessment in total should take no longer than an hour depending on the size of the property.
Choose a time that suits you best and a member of our team can come round and carry out and assessment.
We will carry out a detailed assessment of the property and talk you through the next stages to begin saving energy and money.
The installation can be carried out as soon as we get the go ahead from the bill payer and you can start saving!
How Do I Request A Commercial Energy Assessment? An EPC is normally a general requirement when requesting any funding on energy efficient measures in regards to a property, therefore we can book you in as soon as you choose to go ahead with us. An EPC is produced through a computer, therefore the EPC is used to purely benefit the property. Increasing the energy rating on your EPC could benefit you financially as well as reducing the amount of carbon emissions produced from a building.
I very rarely leave reviews, but on this occasion I felt I just had to.
Quite simply, Tempo ( Doncaster) were brilliant – did exactly as stated on their vans – free boilers. Turned up on time, did a fantastic job fitting my new oil boiler, no hassle, and free. Absolutely brilliant… I’ll spread the word Tempo.
