Faulty Boiler Problems
Gladice and Roy 73, and 75 live in a 3 bedroom semi detached house in Conwy North Wales. They have lived there for over 15 years and have noticed as they got older that their house seems to be getting colder and colder each year. They have never before tried to boost the energy rating of their home, evidently as their home had an energy rating of a G, however upon turning on their 9 year old boiler this last year, they found that it was being rather noisy and something seemed quite strange.

Gladice and Roy both receive Pension Credit, which along with working tax credit, child tax credit, income support, income based jobseekers allowance and income related employment allowance, allows for customers to receive a contribution towards a brand new a rated energy efficient boiler.
Received a Huge Contribution with Qualifying Benefits
A normal boiler cost can be anything between £1500-£2500, however with the qualifying benefits and their energy rating being a G (variable dependant on current energy rating) Gladice and Roy received a contribution of £1730 from £1900, making their payment of contribution only £170.
A year on and both Gladice and Roy have managed to save £340 on their energy bills with their brand new A Rated Energy Efficient Boiler. Gladice says “I couldn’t believe it when Sophie got back to me to inform me that the contribution was only £170 for a new boiler. Our house is lovely and warm now and the boiler has paid for itself in only 6 months! It’s a no brainer really – thank you Tempo!”
