Solar PV’s panels capture the suns energy using photovoltaic cells in order to create electricity in your home (1). Immediately we know what you are thinking…. How can a Solar PV panels use the suns energy to create electricity when it is mostly cloudy and rainy around the area we live? Especially when the UK is home to some of the rainiest cities in the world.
Well… According to The Energy Saving Trust, Solar PV panels do not always need direct sunlight in order to work as they can still generate electricity on a cloudy or rainy day. This means that you can reap the benefits of creating your own electricity in any weather, lowering your carbon footprint and reducing your bill prices for the better.
The benefits to Solar PV panels are endless – Not only does creating your own electricity mean that you could dramatically cut your electricity bill prices, but the new UK Governments Feed in Tariff means that you could get paid for the energy you produce!
In 2014 – the average saving on electricity bills for solar PV panels was £770 a year (1), in addition to this, the Feed In Tariff meant that owners of Solar PV’s got paid around 14.4p per KWH of electricity they produced – and a standard 4KW panel produces up to 3800 KWH of energy a year – meaning they got paid up to £570 annually!
In total the money you save could mean you are paying for your solar panels in less than 5 years.. and then your making money!
As if that wasn’t enough – you can also sell back the electricity you do not use back to the grid – this is called The Export Tariff, and could mean selling back energy at around 4.77p per KWH (2).
The answer to this question is no. Solar PV panels can also come in tile form to blend in with the look of your roof, meaning you will not have to alter the visual style or character of your home!
Solar PV panels need very little maintenance – all they need is a bit of a clean once in while, but with tile form solar panels, rainwater will probably do this for you. Once fitted, Our team will advise you with written details on small maintenance checks that may have to be carried out once in in a while to make sure everything is running smoothly for you.

Quite simply, Tempo ( Doncaster) were brilliant – did exactly as stated on their vans – free boilers. Turned up on time, did a fantastic job fitting my new oil boiler, no hassle, and free. Absolutely brilliant… I’ll spread the word Tempo.
