As the year 2014 quickly passed us by, gradually becoming a distant memory in the face of the January month, it gives us time to reflect on the previous year and what was achieved by Tempo as a company. Similarly, we look ahead in what we hope to achieve in the exciting year to follow….
So Here we go… a reflection of 2014….
Throughout 2014, Tempo received two endorsements from two of the UK’s biggest utility companies; developing our trust with commitment to delivering on time, on budget and with excellence. Our customers seemed to strive from our hard work and dedication which was evident through the feedback and testimonials we received. One of our customers in particular was so happy with our service on her boiler in late October that she baked cakes for the team, which somehow disappeared within a matter of minutes!
In addition; Tempo became a Greendeal Assessor Organisation and Greendeal provider, allowing us to install eligible measures to homes throughout the UK whilst working alongside the Greendeal offers available.
Not only are Tempo Gas safe, BBA approved, NICEIC Assessed and IFM insured, but in 2014 we also became HETAS accredited, approving Biomass and Solid Fuel domestic heating appliances, fuels and services. We were similarly assessed for our contractors’ health and safety and, of course, we passed to become CHAS accredited too.
This allowed Tempo to gain trust and expand our company to not only insulation, but also to private sales on boilers, biomass boilers, Solar PV panels, LED lights and Ground and Air Source Heat Pumps.
In Late June we introduced a new team to the business to insulate high rise flats both in Liverpool and Manchester via rope access as opposed to using scaffolding. We trained our team to IRATA standards (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) and completed the tower blocks in Liverpool and Manchester free of charge within a matter of weeks, making high rise a huge success.
This allowed each flat to save up to £75 a year on their energy bills and was described by press as ‘a unique approach to improving energy efficiency’ and ‘a cost effective and non intrusive insulation solution for high rise tower blocks.’
As mentioned above, we also began to introduce private sales, and in September, we secured the ability to provide Barclays finance deals in order to allow ease of payment for our customers in simple monthly instalments across the full range of our products and services.
We were then able to attend a variety of trade shows and events in the latest part of the year with the confidence to not only appeal to homeowners, but also to landlords and tenants.
Whilst providing the best service possible and delivering on our promises to both our customers and contractors, we proceeded on our mission to put customers at the core of what we do. We altered our mission statement to ‘provide every UK household with the best advice and energy saving solutions in the market’ with a vision ‘to save energy in every home in the UK’. We then began to reposition our brand from ‘Tempo Insulation’ to ‘Tempo Saves Energy’, thus amplifying the brand as it expanded further and further from cavity and loft insulation to an array of energy efficiency measures aimed at a mass population.
2015 will see our customers even more at the heart of what we do, with a clear mission and vision to commit on delivering plus one standards, advice and service.
On Reflection, Tempo had a highly positive year. We continued to grow as a company and exceeded our previous goals in every direction possible. We trained our staff to the highest standard and are proud to say we really do have a happy and positive working environment.
We committed to monthly workplace events to raise money for local charities and develop our team building skills. These events included our ‘Great Tempo Bake off day’, ‘Wear a onesie to work day’ and ‘Christmas jumper day’ all in all allowing us to raise a total of £250 solely in the latter part of 2014. We came together as a team and chose to donate our money to Kings Store House Food bank in order to provide blankets, hot water bottles and food to the homeless around North Wales.
Our monthly events really unite the team and allow our staff to enjoy the workplace environment. We believe that if our staff are happy and positive then we definitely have the ability to make our customers feel happy and positive too!
So the main aim for Tempo in 2015 is to develop on the strengths already set in the previous year. We are going to roll out our new company brand and develop on our new products for private sales as well as increasing our goals and targets for charity work in order to keep our team motivated and positive.
We are currently in development of our website, which will allow our customers to see the full variety of our products and services at ease and keep up to date with the latest news, offers and basic information on how to save energy in the home.
In regards to the marketing side of the business, we feel that it important to start educating our customers and make them fully aware of why energy saving is important. As we mentioned previously, our mission is not just to install energy efficient measures, but also to give the best advice and energy saving solutions possible, and what better way to do this than to enlighten our customers, ensuring they have the correct and proper information provided to them in every area possible. We will continue to commit to new ways of working, even better advice and development of the best products and solutions in the cheapest way possible.
As we strive to achieve new partnerships and deliverance of the best standard commitment to our customers, we hope to keep achieving new goals and persist on pushing the boundaries in order to help both our customers and the planet we live in. Even a little step makes a big difference – have a green 2015!
